Joy Is A Person

It seems that, in this world, the pursuit of happiness is high on the list of things that are important. Though there is certainly nothing wrong with that pursuit, we find that it is very much based on circumstance.

Circumstances certainly do change, even in a moment. JOY, on the other hand, is not based on circumstances. Now, it is important to note that there is a measure of joy that can be experienced at times, but just like happiness, it can be fleeting.

True JOY is only experienced as a fruit of the Spirit. Learning to walk in the Spirit comes after a very deliberate pursuit of a deep, abiding, intimate relationship with our Lord.

Only after we have dealt with our sins, forgiveness, past trauma, lies we have embraced, vows, and pronoucements that have held us captive—maybe for years— can we truly have that deep personal relationships with Jesus, that will produce the true JOY that is available to us.

To sum it up, even though JOY is a great emotion to walk in daily, it’s most important to know, JOY is a person—Jesus.
